3D Systems announced yesterday their acquisition of Simbionix, the global leader in 3D virtual reality surgical simulation and training for $120 million.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Simbionix expands 3D Systems reach into the 3D healthcare field with over 60 interventional procedures covering eight specialities and 16 simulation platforms for surgical training.
Simbionix advanced healthcare solutions provide medical simulators and learning management systems for use in simulation centres, hospitals and colleges.

With combined resources, the companies will continue to operate under Gary Zamler, CEO of Simbionix, to accelerate the production of integration opportunities in the 3D healthcare industry.
