Arcam EBM Chamber
Leading additive manufacturing expert Arcam has revealed that it has received an order for its Electro Beam Melting (EBM) technology from the US aerospace sector.
The Swedish company did not disclose who the order is for apart from the fact they are a "major aerospace industry client" and that the order will be used for aerospace components.
Arcam announced the order on January 22nd in accordance with the Securities Market Act and/or the Financial Instruments Trading Act.
CEO Magnus René stated: "This new order strengthens our position as a supplier to the aerospace industry. We expect that the aerospace market will continue to grow for us during the coming years."
Arcam's additive manufacturing technology offers design freedom combined with top-level material properties and high productivity. In addition to aerospace, Arcam works extensively within the orthopaedic industry due to the precision its EMB machines are capable of, utilising a high-powered electron beam to produce stress-relieved additive-manufactured components with properties that are better than cast equivalents and are comparable to wrought materials in terms of finish and durability.
