3D printing challenge
International stationary giant Staples and 3D model store CGTrader have joined forces to launch an exciting 3D Printing Challenge.
The competition aims to attract the best and brightest industry designers to design and publish their work at Staples' new online 3D Printing Store to be in with a chance of winning an amazing cash prize.
The challenge involves creating a 3D-printable model to be brought to life by an Mcor Iris 3D printer. All participants need to do is upload their 3D design to CGTrader.com to be in with a chance of scooping a top prize of €1,000 and promotional features for the overall winner and two runners up worth more than €1,500.
"It is a great way to showcase models on Staples' online store and get noticed by the 3D printing industry, as everyone is watching how Staples' online service performs," said CGTrader's Alex Levchenko.
There are no limits for the imagination, however entrants will have to abide by some technical requirements. The models submitted need to be suitable to be printed on an Mcor Iris printer - which creates photo-realistic prototypes using regular office paper. While there are three simple steps to follow in order to participate in the 3D Printing Challenge:
- Create a printable 3D model
- Upload it to CGTrader.com
- Upload it to Staples myeasy3D store.
