3D imagery and 3D printing company, Shining 3D has just kicked off a crowdfunding campaign for its EinScan-S desktop 3D scanner.
Freshly launched on Kickstarter, the scanner is set to be the world’s first high-resolution desktop 3D scanner to be made available at the affordable price point of $799.

At CES 2015, the Chinese manufacturer launched its consumer friendly Einstart desktop 3D printer along with the 2nd iteration of its desktop 3D scanner.

The 3rd version of EinScan-S is set for release at the end of this month in a bid to bring not just more affordable scanning to the consumer but an all round smarter and more portable 3D scanner.
The Kickstarter campaign will continue throughout next month with $27,000 of its $50,000 target already pledged by backers eager to get their hands on this affordable scanning solution.
Shining 3D is planning to deliver the first batch of scanners by May 2015 to backers pledging to become distributors. The rest of the devices aim to be shipped by August.
