Materialise has unveiled the latest version of its Streamics Robot 4.1. The little guy you see here is sadly not in fact a robot for your desk but the face of a piece of automation software used for instant 3D print quoting and part preparation processes in additive manufacturing.
Branded as the ultimate automation tool in all additive manufacturing preparation, the tool has undergone a set of improvements to enhance the automation of part preparation and refine analysis tasks.
Key features of the Streamics Robot 4.1 update include the ability to automatically rescale parts for printing and fully automated additive manufacturing analysis and preparation operations.
A Shrink and Wrap option has also been added as well as the option to design personal preferences with a range of different user interfaces for standalone use or integration with third party applications.
The Streamics Robot update supports various input and export formats and bears integrated functionality to convert CAD files to include external colour textures.
For quoting 3D printing costs, the Robot can easily be connected to any website or system that calculates prices.
The updated tool aims to increase productivity through its enhanced automated features and also reduce the impact of human error by limiting the need for human input in part preparation.
