Farsoon Technologies
Farsoon Technologies have announced a strategic partnership with a Laser Sintering specialist and launched the 403P series plastic laser sintering system on the last day of formnext 2016.
The partnership with Laser Sintering Service includes the acquisition of shares of the company by Farsoon. Working together, Farsoon and LSS will combine the extensive competencies each company has in the additive manufacturing field in order to strengthen their technology and service solutions.
“I see this is a natural next step for our two companies. Over the past years Farsoon and LSS have fostered a very complimentary relationship,” Dr Xiaoshu Xu, Chairman of Farsoon Technologies said. “We are very happy to establish with LSS a strong setup for the Europeans market and to seal our partnership which has grown to be more than just business partners.”
LSS will become Farsoon’s European distributor and service arm as Farsoon’s European Research and Development Centre.
“Having started as a service provider for laser sintering equipment and now being a well-known solution development partner with an excellent reputation, we see with this significant investment and commitment from Farsoon (as a chance) to grow LSS faster and expand our activities in Europe,” Guido Elbrecht, CEO of LSS said.
LSS has been operating for more than a decade as an independent, pan-European support and service provider in the field of laser sintering and stereolithography. Besides their support activities, LSS delivers state of the art upgrades as well as customised solutions, distributes laser sintering and stereolithography materials and provides application support for any material.
Meanwhile Farsoon's 403P series plastic laser sintering system features enhanced productivity and a high temperature build chamber capable of processing PA6 material.
“BASF is positively impressed by Farsoon taking leadership by reducing costs of plastic part fabrication simultaneously with increasing performance and functionality in laser sintering,” explains Dr. Dirk Simon, 3D-Printing Business Director in BASF New Business GmbH. “Based on improvements with economy of scale, BASF supports this approach for more affordable PA6 parts fabricated by laser sintering with reducing the price of BASF Ultrasint PA6 powder by up to 20% for higher purchase quantities effective immediately.”
By increasing machine and material capability, while at the same time reducing investment costs to the customer, Farsoon and BASF together show their commitment to providing a true additive manufacturing solution.
Farsoon Technologies is a total solution supplier of laser sintering and melting, founded in 2009 by Dr Xu Xiaoshu. The company specialises in innovation and invests heavily in the R&D and manufacture of laser sintering equipment for plastic laser sintering and metal laser sintering as well as materials, rapid prototyping processing services, and laser sintering technical service support.
