formnext affirms itself as leading international gathering for 3D technologies.
The numbers are in for the second edition of formnext powered by tct, and by all accounts, the Frankfurt event has confirmed its position as a key catalyst for the combination of additive manufacturing and conventional technologies.
Building on the success of its debut in 2015, the four-day event welcomed 13,384 visitors through the doors, a massive 49% increase on last year’s attendance with 44% of visitors joining from outside Germany. The increased footfall also had much more ground to cover this year with 307 companies exhibiting their latest technologies across 18,702 m² in Hall 3.1 of the Frankfurt Messe.
Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President formnext at event organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, commented: “formnext 2016 sets a clear statement. Already with the second edition it established a fixed place in the event calendars of the related industries. This success is underlined by an increase of more than 50 percent exhibitors from 28 countries and an increase of 49 percent trade visitors.”
Here's what exhibitors had to say ...
“The trade fair is a good trendsetter for sure and the displayed technologies are simply breathtaking. Definitely a highlight for me this year,” explains Dipl.-Ing. Stephan Schech, Head of Sales Baumüller Reparaturwerk GmbH & Co. KG, Nuremberg, Germany.
Ralf Deuke, Managing Director Creabis GmbH near to Munich, commented: “Formnext 2017 is for me a fixed date, whatever happens.”
“During the first days our booth was completely crowded with international qualified visitors, among them representatives from OEMs as Bosch and BMW. Overall an extremely positive trade show experience,” Uri Resnik, CEO at OR Laser from Dieburg, Germany, added.
The formnext powered by tct Conference drew over 600 delegates.
The adjacent formnext powered by tct Conference, organised by the TCT Conference team was hailed an equal success with an eclectic mix of speakers from blue chip additive manufacturing users to German Paralympic champion, Denise Schindler. The conference drew a total of 647 participants from 25 countries who broadened their knowledge on current and future developments and applications in 3D technologies.
Additional features included the TCT Tech Stage which featured technical presentations from over 30 exhibitors, plus two competitions: the Start-up Challenge and the Purmundus Challenge, which were celebrated with two separate award ceremonies.
