The FormUp 350 machine to be debuted at formnext
AddUp, the joint venture between Fives and Michelin, is set to debut a metal 3D printing machine at formnext 2016.
The FormUp 350 is the latest in a range of direct metal multi-laser melting machines and is said to continue the reliability and productivity of the previous editions. Formnext will be the official world premiere of their latest machine and promises to display global solutions for the additive manufacturing industry.
Like most other AddUp machines to date, the FormUp 350 can output products 24/7 with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) that meets the toughest expectations of industrial companies. AddUp are also proud of their latest machine's look. They describe the surface quality and material integrity as 'unrivalled'.
Additionally, AddUp cite Michelin's experience in industrial production and the use of the Powder, Machine, Part, Method (PMPM) quality planning process guarantees that the parts produced are high quality and ensure the qualification conditions required for all types of certification. The PMPM process ensures all parameters are fully controlled, ensuring a high quality product.
In the PMPM process, the powder is prepared and used for continuous industrial production with guaranteed traceability of the material flow at all stages of the production. The FormUp 350 is designed to limit inter-batch contamination and allows for quick changes between powders. The machine phase of the process focuses on the expertise and control of the melting pool - all parameters are controlled using Michelin's industrial referentials and experience. In the part phase, the relationship between the parameters and mechanical characteristics of the part in production are controlled. While the method phase, approves the sequence of phases before it.
In addition to the production strategies implemented, all of the machine's parameters can be adjusted to meet the needs and requirements detailed in the specifications. An open architecture system allows other available software to be used. Equally, all powder sizes can be used thanks to less restrictive specifications, particularly morphology and sphericity. This ensures that operating costs are controlled.
The AddUp teams can assess the benefits of using a full FormUp Line industrial solution, based on the customers’ needs, the sectors in which they operate and the types of parts to be produced, and propose a fully functional, productive industrial architecture.
“AddUp stands out because we provide personalised support to industrial businesses in order to find the optimum technical and economic solution," said Mr. Bruno Bernard, CEO of Fives Michelin Additive Solutions. "Furthermore, we pay particular and unprecedented attention to operator safety and respect for the environment during the industrial use of powders and metal additive manufacturing machines.”
AddUp will be showcasing their solutions at formnext all week. They can be found in Hall 3.1 Booth J70 from November 15-18.
