ColorFabb and Eastman's nGen Filament
The quality of desktop 3D printing filament in 2015 is so advanced that it is difficult to think that just five years ago we were limited to just ABS and PLA. One company that have done more than most to accelerate innovation and adoption in material science is colorFabb and its many partners. In 2015 alone the Dutch filament supplier has launched a host of new filaments including the incredible-to-polish BrassFill and carbon-fibre inforced XT-CF20.
One of colorFabb's long-standing productions is Eastman Chemical Company and the collaboration is further enhanced with the launch of nGen filament made with Eastman Amphora AM3300 3D polymer.
nGen filament offers a wide processing termperature range allowing for quicker printing while maintaining the original Eastman Amphora polymer properties such as toughness and low odour.
“The use of this material runs the gamut of 3D-printed applications, ranging from prototyping to experimenting, and from designing to making serious money,” said Ruud Rouleaux, managing director, colorFabb.
“In addition, nGen made with Eastman Amphora AM3300 3D polymer will allow for casual users and those who enjoy do-it-yourself projects to use a high quality filament,” said Alex Dudal, market development representative, Eastman.
At CES, Eastman and colorFabb will collaborate with Aleph Objects, Inc. to showcase nGen as the new filament officially supported for their LulzBot line of 3D printers. Learn more by visiting Booth 72117 in Halls A-C in the 3D printing marketplace at the show.
