Additive manufacturing software developer, 3YOURMIND has announced the closing of a $12m series A round and the opening of its East Coast office in New York.
The round was led by Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners, an experienced investor in B2B SaaS and industrial technologies.
As demonstrated by the opening of a second U.S. office, 3YOURMIND already has a location in San Francisco, the funding will be harnessed to further expand into the American market. The funding and company expansion comes after a successful entry to market, which saw high profile aerospace and engineering customers, like GKN, adopt 3YOURMIND’s software solutions.
In addition to growing its presence in the U.S., 3YOURMIND plans to use the money to drive initial entry into the Asian market, though to achieve these goals it recognises the need for further product development also.
3YOURMIND’s current platforms, such as Enterprise and AM Part Identifier – developed with EOS, have been designed for industrial 3D printing. Enterprise enables automatic optimisation and price estimates, while Part Identifier is a program which helps the user to pick the best-designed parts for 3D printing. The company’s solutions have not only attracted GKN, but also Trumpf, Siemens, and Continental.
“The strong demand we are seeing from larger, established businesses for our industrial 3D printing solutions confirms this is the future of high-tech manufacturing in the U.S. and globally,” said Aleksander Ciszek, 3YOURMIND’s CEO. “We are committed to shaping the production processes of digitised factories, and are delighted to have four outstanding strategic partners investing in our vision, including EOS and Trumpf, which are global leaders in the industrial 3D printing market.”
“3YOURMIND provides a missing link in the growth and development of industrial 3D printing,” adds GKN’s Markus Josten. “The platform(s) enables customers to dramatically decrease the cost and complexity of using 3D printing, and thus makes it much more accessible.”
3YOURMIND will be exhibiting at the upcoming formnext powered by TCT in Hall 3.1 Stand G70. Last year, the AM software developer won the formnext start-up challenge.
