Initially opening the office in the Californian city on a short-term basis, 3YOURMIND will now boast a North American base permanently.
3D printing software provider, 3YOURMIND has expanded its services in the US making a previously temporary San Francisco office a permanent location.
The company, most known for its online 3D-button platform that offers 3D printing directly from CAD-based programmes, hopes to bring its advanced software for industrial 3D printing to the US. Initially opening the office in the Californian city on a short-term basis, 3YOURMIND will now boast a North American base permanently.
Currently the Berlin-based tech company gets a lot of business within Europe – they also operate a base in Poland. But now the aim is to acquire more American customers.
Before the San Francisco office was opened, there were only a handful of 3D service providers in the US using 3YOURMIND’s innovative software platform. Co-Founder and COO Aleksander Ciszek has led the US expansion effort, with some additional temporary support from CEO Stephan Kuehr and Head of Sales and Marketing, Phillip Stelzer.
“The launch of our ecommerce solution last October has been a perfect entry point to the US market,” said Ciszek. “We have found innovative companies and 3D printing services who were hungry for the solution we developed here in Germany.”
During a second round of financing 12 months ago, 3YOURMIND impressed Dr Hans J. Langer, founder and CEO of EOS HmbH Electro-Optical Systems, the worldwide leading provider of industrial 3D printers in laser sintering. Dr Langer is a Business Angel, supporting the growth of start-up companies in the 3D printing and laser technology sector, and became their main investor. 3YOURMIND has noted this investment has added validation to their efforts.
As well as winning first prize in the 2016 formnext powered by TCT Start-Up Challenge, 3YOURMIND was also awarded the German Innovation Prize in the Start-Up category. As part of the prize, they earned an initial placement in Silicon Valley’s German Accelerator Program. This programme supports German technology start-ups with high potential and provides access to mentors, office space and business connections.
As a result of 3YOURMIND’s progress with negotiations and contracts with giants of the Silicon Valley, the programme is extending support for an extra nine months. According to 3YOURMIND, the close proximity to this important tech network it has gained through the German Accelerator Program has helped increase the development of some key business relationships in the US market. It expects several of these partnerships to be formally implemented in customer companies and made public in 2017.
