Dirk Simon joins FARSOON Europe GmbH as Managing Director.
Chinese additive manufacturing (AM) company, Farsoon Technologies has today announced it is expanding its operations in Europe with the establishment of a new subsidiary in Germany.
Farsoon's European arm, to be named FARSOON Europe GmbH, will be led by Dirk Simon who joins the team from BASF where he has been integral in the material giant's AM activity as Director of 3D Printing. Following six years with BASF New Business GmbH focussed on AM business development and applications, Dirk will assume the role of Farsoon Europe Managing Director from April 1st.
Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, chairman of Farsoon Technologies said: "Europe is central to the growth of additive manufacturing. Farsoon is eager to work with and support the growing market here and we are very happy to have someone with the experience and integrity of Dirk Simon be our representative."
Volker Hammes, Managing Director of BASF 3D Printing Solutions GmbH commented: "We encourage Farsoon in its expansion to Europe for industrializing 3D-Printing and continue to support the company in selling machines open for use of high performance BASF materials."
Founded in 2009 by laser sintering pioneer, Dr. Xu Xiaoshu, Farsoon specialises in plastic laser sintering and laser metal melting technologies through its "Open for Industry" technical and business philosophy. In recent years, the company has been strengthening its global operations with a number of partnerships with the likes of BASF, Laser Sinter Service (LSS) and Prodways. In 2016, Farsoon broke ground on its North American office to serve customers in customers in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. The establishment of FARSOON Europe will work closely with local partners and customers to provide enhanced support and will form part of Farsoon's overall strategy for international growth.
Farsoon and BASF are currently exhibiting at TCT Asia 2018 in Shanghai from 1-3 March.
