Frazer-Nash Manufacturing is now certified to manufacture aerospace components in according to AS9100 quality management standard.
The UK-based company has a host of clients in the aerospace sector, providing services around precision manufacturing, process engineering, engineering design and additive manufacturing. It utilises 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling, multi axis CNC turning, EDM wire erosion, and metal additive manufacturing systems from Renishaw to deliver these services, and a combined 100 years of experience in automotive and aerospace.
Frazer-Nash has applied these technologies and this know-how to produce filling systems, handling systems, and low-shear extruders. This AS9100 certification will serve to assure the quality of the company’s design and manufacturing set-up, and subsequently the components to emerge from it. It represents a significant development for Frazer Nash.
“Having AS9100 approval for both traditional and additive manufacturing allows Frazer-Nash to handle many different projects, and supply our customers with a complete solution from under one roof,” commented Paul Mortlock, Frazer Nash Manufacturing’s Managing Director. “With our heritage deep within aerospace, we look forward to building on this and continue the great work the team has put in over the last year achieving the approval.”
AS9100 is a certification standard relevant to the quality management system requirements of the aerospace industry. It brings additional requirements to the basic ISO 9001 standard, including special risk management, focus on product management, prevention of counterfeit parts, and additional configuration management. The certification is a desirable qualification for service providers like Frazer-Nash to assure the efficiency of its processes, minimise risk, and protect and improve business opportunities.
