The Additive Manufacturing Pavilion has expanded to the entrance of the West Building for IMTS 2018.
The U.S.’s largest manufacturing event, the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), has announced details of the ten pavilions set to feature at this year’s show which takes place inside Chicago’s McCormick Place on 10-15th September.
Amongst displays and demonstrations from 2,400 exhibitors, the Technology Pavilions will cover various manufacturing technologies across 1.3 million sq. ft. of exhibit space, including; Abrasive Machining/Sawing/Finishing, Additive Manufacturing, Controls & CAD-CAM, EDM, Fabricating & Lasers, Gear Generation, Machine Components/Cleaning/Environmental, Metal Cutting, Quality Assurance, Tooling & Workholding Systems.
This year, the Additive Manufacturing Pavilion has been expanded to the entrance of the West Building to accommodate over 50 exhibitors including major industrial players such as 3D Systems, HP, Renishaw, SLM Solutions and EOS alongside a handful of desktop 3D printing companies including Ultimaker, Formlabs and Aleph Objects.
“The industry is producing more industrial additive manufacturing solutions than ever before, and it will all be at IMTS this year,” says Glynn Fletcher, President and CCA of EOS North America. “The Additive Manufacturing Pavilion is a must-visit destination for any company serious about getting ahead. Adoption of the technology is growing rapidly, but we’re all still scratching the surface of this technology’s full capabilities.”
In addition, 2018 will feature the first Machine Components/Cleaning/Environmental Pavilion which covers the components essential for safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operation, service and monitoring of machines and facilities. Exhibitors will showcase reclaim, reuse and recycle technologies, products for washing, purification, filtration and separation, material handling systems and motion control components, as well as environmental management software and more.
Building on emerging trends spotted at the 2016 IMTS event, there will also be increased emphasis on automation, robotics and Industry 4.0 with a co-located show from Hannover Messe USA which brings together an additional 550 exhibitors and ‘Digital Factory’ area.
