Link3D has announced the closing of a $7 million venture capital funding round led by AI Capital.
The investment is to be leveraged to help accelerate the additive manufacturing workflow software vendor’s global expansion efforts in the coming years. It will also fuel further advancements to Link3D’s product innovation, with the company already planning to integrate its flagship Additive Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with IoT, artificial intelligence and workflow automation technology.
Link3D is to grow its sales and customer support capacity in North America, Europe and Japan, while its Additive MES platform, which is helping additive manufacturing users in aerospace, automotive, medical, and oil and gas to better understand, monitor and manage their workflows, will be subject to a number of additional enhancements. This year, the company’s flagship software has seen the integration of the Additive Material Recommendation System, which helps users better understand material performance relative to the additive process they are to be used with, and the Material Tracking System, which assists users in managing order quantities.
Integrating automation and AI technologies, the company expects users to be able get even more out of additive manufacturing, and as they do, hopes to scale in tandem to better serve their needs.
“With this funding round, Link3D will continue to scale and grow operations in North America, Europe and Japan by expanding our sales and customer support,” commented Shane Fox, co-founder and CEO of Link3D. “The funding will also aid in our R&D efforts to introduce workflow automation and artificial intelligence within the additive manufacturing production environment. These developments will help organisations around the world unlock the true benefits of industrial manufacturing.”
“Link3D is a key player in providing MES and workflow solutions to leading business worldwide, making it a valuable addition to our growth-stage enterprise applied AI investment portfolio,” added Neville Teagarden, Manging Partner of AI Capital. “This successful round of funding is testament to the strong impact Link3D has made thus far and the confidence it has inspired throughout the industry.”
