Markforged has announced the launch of its Additive Manufacturing University programme, which will provide a series of tutorials and workshops to enhance knowledge of additive manufacturing.
The company has designed the initiative in a bid to help address the knowledge gap in additive design and operations, and hopes it will contribute to successful implementation of the technology, reducing time to market, improving efficiency, and increasing profitability for businesses big and small.
Manufacturers can access the educational resources through Markforged’s AM University onsite at Markforged, on their own premises, or online. At Markforged’s HQ in Boston, the company has the capacity to deliver single or multi-day workshops throughout the calendar year, while the vendor is also open to visiting the users of the programme, delivering custom tailored content. The Markforged Learning Library can be accessed online for free and acts as the on-demand resource where users can build up foundational knowledge, with design guidelines, best practices for applications and more available.

Markforged has sought to set-up the AM University programme to maximise the potential of additive manufacturing technology, making sure the growing capabilities of 3D printing processes are not wasted due to a lack of knowledge. The company also acknowledges each company has a different set of needs and wants. Through the University, Markforged is hoping to help companies develop the skills to identify new applications, design effectively for the process, manage the AM workflow, and build business cases for replacing traditional manufacturing techniques as and when necessary.
