New DragonFly 2020 Pro model announces commercial availability.
Israel-based 3D printed electronics company, Nano Dimension has announced the launch of a new larger-format machine, the DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D Printer.
Following the introduction of the DragonFly 2020 last year, the desktop-sized beta model which has gone through an extensive testing period with a total of 16 high-profile customers including PHYTEC in Germany and FATHOM in the U.S., the Pro machine will ultimately replace the desktop model as it announces its commercial availability.
A sizeable change in aesthetic, Nano Dimension says the upgrade from a compact desktop model to a floor-standing system, was a direct response to customer feedback during the beta phase. This feedback has resulted in an extendable platform that offers high precision, resolution and easy maintenance.
“Agility and keeping pace with rapidly changing customer expectations is a competitive differentiator,” said Simon Fried, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of Nano Dimension. “3D printing with this next-generation DragonFly is transformational for electronics development. Optimising workflows shrinks PCB design and test cycles from months or weeks, to days. More and easier iterations lead to greater innovation and better business outcomes.”
The aim of the updated DragonFly 2020 Pro remains the same. The system allows engineers and designers to quickly prototype multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) without the time-consuming and costly of bottlenecks inherent in traditional PCB prototyping. Using its precise inkjet deposition system, users can print high resolution trace and space and a full range of multilayer PCB features.
Targeting a range of industries including consumer electronics, aerospace, medical, defense, IoT and telecom, the DragonFly 2020 Pro 3D Printer is billed as “a one-stop solution for 3D-printed electronics” such as multilayer PCB prototypes, antennas, experimental electronic circuits and more.
From today, customers can join the Early Access Program for early commercial availability. It was recently announced that global product manufacturer, Jabil has already greed to become its first commercial customer.
