PHYTEC, a manufacturer of microprocessor-based solutions for industrial devices, has completed the purchase of two DragonFly 2020 machines from Nano Dimension.
The company was one of a handful of industrial players to take on the DragonFly 2020 desktop platform late last year while still in its Beta phase, and in the summer made public how it had been using it. Now, Nano Dimension has confirmed PHYTEC has purchased the desktop machine outright, and followed it up with the acquiring of the DragonFly 2020 Pro.
PHYTEC has also become the first reseller of the DragonFly 2020 products in Germany. It will use its expertise in sales and commercial and service infrastructure to promote the adoption of Nano Dimension’s flagship 3D printing machines throughout Europe, perhaps using its own application of the platforms as use case examples to potential buyers.
“We were so impressed with Nano Dimension’s 3D printers that we quickly moved to make them central to our entire digital transformation infrastructure,” said Bodo Huber, CEO of PHYTEC. “We are constantly looking for competitive advantages and see great value in integrating agile hardware processes like the DragonFly 2020 to power and drive our additive electronics manufacturing process.”
“PHYTEC’s decision to purchase two of our advanced 3D printers to power its own digital transformation validates our entire value proposition,” said Simon Fried, Chief Business Officer and Co-Founder of Nano Dimension. “The fact that an experienced practitioner of the calibre of PHYTEC also decided to invest in becoming our first reseller in Germany, speaks volumes about the significant marketplace potential they see for our disruptive solution.”
The announcement of PHYTEC’s purchases and deal to become German reseller comes days after Nano Dimension announced its intentions to open a U.S. Customer Experience Center in California. It was the second of an impending several to be opened around the world as Nano Dimension looks to expand its presence across the globe.
