Sintratec S2.
Sintratec has introduced the Sintratec S2, a follow up selective laser sintering platform to its Sintratec Kit and S1 machines.
The company made the launch of its third additive manufacturing system at the recent Formnext event in Frankfurt. It is comprised of the Laser Sintering Station, the Material Core Unit and the Material Handling Station, and can be supported by additional modules like the Sintratec Blasting Station, the Sintratec Polishing Station, and the Sintratec Vortex Unit.
Sintratec believes this end-to-end solution of semi-automated processes of laser sintering, de-powdering, material preparation and surface treatment, enables the production of precise and complex parts with reduced down times.
Through a cylindrical printing area, the Laser Sintering Station is heated and ventilated with a ‘new concept’, while the precision of the scanning system not only promises speed, but repeatability too. A 4K camera allows the user to control print jobs and keep an eye on the surface of every print layer as parts are built. The Material Core Unit is equipped with an integrated powder mixing function. Should a user wish to process different materials, they can expand the system with another Material Core Unit. The Handling Station, meanwhile, collects used and excess material and sieves it for reprocessing. The Blasting Station can be utilised to improve surface quality and aesthetics, while the Polishing Station can seal surface impurities and gives components a smooth, stainless steel-like finish, per Sintratec.
The S2 is compatible with PA12 and TPE powders supplied by Sintratec.
