PRIMALLOY 3D printer filament.
Verbatim has been shaping the development of data storage devices for well over 40 years but is a relative newbie to the 3D printing market. Having recently released two PLA and ABS filament spools the company has now unveiled PRIMALLOY, a filament with enhanced flexibility and elasticity.
The new material is a thermoplastic ester elastomer (TPEE) delivering improved flexibility and rubber elasticity compared to standard TPEE variants. The material provides high performance characteristics with resistance to oil, chemicals, flex fatigue and heat. PRIMALLOY also features low temperature properties and a high level of hardness and stability across a wide temperature range.
PRIMALLOY will be of particular interests to manufacturers of automotive components such as electrical connector boots and home and industrial devices such as hand grips, goggles, buttons and toothbrushes.
Verbatim’s parent company, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is currently developing a range of new materials to widen Verbatim’s 3D printer filament range. This adds to the company’s expansive history in developing materials for engineering applications in the industrial, medical, automotive and consumer sectors.
PRIMALLOY will be available in Europe this December and will join Verbatim’s PLA and ABS materials which are available in 1.75/3mm and 1.75mm diameter filaments in an assortment of colours.
