3D print your own Ford Focus RS.
Upon first glance, the idea of 3D printing your own Ford car, seems like a glorified version of the recent news that the motor manufacturer is now working with industry newcomer, Carbon 3D. But no, you can in fact now print your own miniature version of five different Ford models.
Launching in The Ford 3D Store, Ford fans can now purchase a range of 3D printed scale models in single colour blue PLA or download the STL file to print at home. All orders are being fulfilled through TurboSquid, a vast online platform for 3D models including cars, people and architectural designs and already houses an huge collection of Ford replicas.

Customers can currently get their hands on small-scale versions of the F-150 Raptor, 2016 Focus RS, 2015 Focus ST, 2015 Fiesta ST priced at $39 for a print or $4.99 for the digital file. A Limited Edition version of the All-New Ford GT, created in collaboration with Forza Motorsport 6 for the 2015 E3 expo has also been released for more hard-core fans. This special edition is made from full-colour sandstone and comes with a unique presentation box for $230.
This isn’t the first time Ford has dabbled with 3D printing and the company has been applying the technology to prototype parts for many years. Most recently, the motor company was selected for early access to Carbon 3D’s CLIP technology, perhaps the fastest 3D printing method yet and is also being trialled by Hollywood special effects company, Legacy Effects.
