Dr. Hans J. Langer, Executive Chairman of the EOS Group and founder of EOS, was the second person inducted into the TCT Hall of Fame at the inaugural TCT Awards, held at Birmingham Town Hall.
Hans Langer's pioneering work in the laser industry shaped much of the laser-based additive manufacturing industry today, particularly in metal 3D printing. Since launching the Munich-based company in 1989, Hans has grown the team to over 1,000 employees and that team is consistently pushing the boundaries of additive's possibilities.
As well as founding EOS, one of the world leading manufacturers of both polymer and metal 3D printing systems, Hans is also a leader at SCANLAB GmbH, which, unbeknown to many, is the main supplier of many of the laser scanning systems used across metal laser sintering equipment.
Commenting on his induction, Langer explains the gravitas of this award: “It is an honour to be recognised as one of the leaders in 3D printing, and I am delighted to be inducted into TCT Group’s Hall of Fame.”
“This induction is testament to the fantastic team I have had around me at EOS, and the talented group of people I’ve been lucky to work with over the last 30 years or so. Since the late 1980’s, I’ve been looking at ways to further this industry and show the potential of the technology on a grand scale, and EOS has allowed me to grow and develop beyond what I even thought was possible.”
