Rapid Applications Group RAG-6
Rapid Application Group (RAG), a 3D printing service provider, has added Ultem 9085 and Ultem 1010 as production materials for its fused deposition modelling (FDM) offering.
The company serves both prototyping and production needs throughout a variety of industries, including aerospace, motorsport, healthcare and energy. It harnesses printing systems powered by FDM; stereolithography and Digital Light Printing; as well as powder bed fusion, both polymers and metals. It also provides 3D scanning, reverse engineering and inspection services, as well as CNC, assembly and custom finishes.
With the new additions to its FDM services, RAG believes it is bringing enhancements to its work in some of the markets it works with. Ultem 9085 is an approved materials for use in aerospace and automotive for components like housings, ducts, as well as functional prototypes and production parts. It boasts resistance to heat, chemicals and impact, while also being dimensionally stable, durable with outstanding tensile strength. Ultem 1010, meanwhile, is better suited to custom tools for metal or composite parts fabrications, as well as heat resistant dies for patterns and fixtures for food production, since it is approved for food contact. The material also has high heat deflection, high tensile strength, durability and dimensional stability.
“We are thrilled to offer certified Ultem 9085 and Ultem 1010 to our growing customer base,” commented Terry Hill, CEO of Rapid Application Group. “Ultem 9085 is an approved material for aerospace interior applications and Ultem 1010 is approved for food-grade applications. Both materials represent true production capabilities using our fused deposition modelling service.”
