Cimatron is establishing its own 3D printing advisory board.
A 3D printing advisory board has been set up by Cimatron (NASDAQ: CIMT).
The company's board of directors has given the committee the green light and named industry expert Terry Wohlers as its first member.
Mr Wohlers has been a leading authority on 3D printing technology for more than two decades and his Colorado-headquartered firm Wohlers Associates provides technical and strategic consulting on new developments and trends in rapid product development, 3D printing and additive manufacturing.
Mr Wohlers is also a public commentator on the 3D printing industry as a whole, having served as a keynote speaker at nearly 100 international conferences, while he has been interviewed extensively as an expert in the sector.
Cimatron's president and chief executive officer Danny Haran explained that the appointment of Mr Wohlers aims to accelerate the company’s efforts in entering the additive and hybrid manufacturing field.
"We are pleased and honored to have Mr Wohlers on board and believe that his wide experience and knowledge of this fast emerging industry will assist us in identifying ways in which we can further our efforts to serve the global manufacturing market as effectively and innovatively as possible," he stated.
Mr Wohlers added to Mr Haran's comments by saying that he is "honoured to have been selected as part of Cimatron's pioneering efforts".
Cimatron is a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM software solutions with more than 30 years of experience and over 400,000 installations worldwide.
Mr Wohlers indicated the company is at the beating heart of a cutting edge industry and remarked: "By 2015, we believe the 3D printing industry will be worth $3.7 billion (£2.4 billion, €2.8 billion), and a successful deployment by Cimatron in this market will provide it strong potential for growth."
