Simbionix RobotiX Mentor
3D Systems has announced a new robotic surgery skills simulator to its array of Simbionix medical training devices, the Simbionix RobotiX Mentor.
Assistive medical devices have proven game changing in the medical industry with applications ranging from training tools for medical students to surgical planning devices for mapping out surgical procedures.
The RobotiX Mentor is the only hands-on, complete procedural training simulator for robotic surgery skills and features an advanced simulator platform with realistic training modules.
These modules provide surgeons of all levels with the opportunity to train on the required robotic skills and form the basis of the simulator curriculum. This new addition is the only robotic training simulator that offers a fully immersive interactive environment enabling surgeons to experience entire robotic clinical procedures.
The simulator is integrated into the 3D Systems online curriculum management system, MentorLearn which provides technical skills reporting, assessment of the curriculum and benchmarks.

3D Systems also plans to introduce Bespoke Modeling, to its Simbionix simulators. Bespoke Modelling is a cloud based, easy to use and affordable 3D modelling service which gives medical professionals the power to communicate effectively and improve medical training. The tool makes it easy to access patient specific data, add annotations and explore anatomical structures to produce full colour 3D models.
The Simbionix RobotiX Mentor was shown for the first time this week at the ERUS exhibition in Amsterdam and demonstrates the growing potential for robotic surgery training tools.
