Cubify 2.0
3D Systems has launched Cubify 2.0 at International CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The update was revealed as the second part of '3D Printing 2.0' which we first saw with a slew of new releases at last year's Euromold in Frankfurt.
The company has revealed the immediate availability of its comprehensive consumer destination for delivering the complete 3D printing experience for fashionistas, interiors enthusiasts, children and other creative minds today (January 6th) to enable what the CEO Avi Reichental dubbed 'The 3D printed lifestyle'.
On a tour of the 3DS booth with Avi on the day before CES 2014 opened, TCT + Personalize was told that Cubify 2.0 would offer a high-end, curated experience that would allow anyone to get access to the cream of 3D printables and 3d printed items. There are a couple of big announcements to come for Cubify 2.0 that are sure to create a stir — and you're going to have to wait to find out about them, sorry! Suffice to say that by combining their platform with the right brands, designers and creatives, 3DS is building a home for 3D printables, with the focus heavily on being accessible to everyone, that will set the standard.
Moreover, Cubify 2.0 includes the first-ever 3D printing-powered Mancave where the value is in powering your passions from DIY and automotive to sports and music. Cubify features community-centric, social functionality for users to display their designs in the Shelf, a gallery-like profile, and browse the Design Feed for community-created, inspirational and sharable content.
Cubify.com is powered by 3D Systems' proprietary consumer platform that enables the secure hosting, publishing and production of large scale branded and licensed 3D printable content for retail, merchandising, and cloud sourcing or at home printing. 3D Systems also manufactures the award-winning Cube family of consumer 3D printers, the Sense 3D scanner and a suite of consumer design software tools that are all available for purchase via Cubify.
Brand collections on Cubify are curated with a mix of customisable content using 3D Systems' exclusive Stylizer app technology, making everything designed by you and made for you. Content comes with 100 per cent guaranteed printability at home or delivered to your doorstep from 3D Systems' high-end cloud printing materials like Ceramix, Everlast and Colorstone.
Brands already featured on Cubify include future-focused NOOKA fashion accessories; 360Heros, a leading GoPro gear line; Digital Dollhouse, an online educational play-space for kids and their parents; Blokify, a digital Lego-like tool for kids to build and create in 3D; and fan favorites NBA and Star Trek who invite their audiences to join the story with personalized merchandise.
