Geomagic
3D Systems has officially welcomed its Geomagic colleagues to the company after the 3D printing giant completed its acquisition in February of this year.
After closing a deal with Rapidform in October 2012, the industry leader released a statement applauding both businesses for joining the 3D Systems juggernaut.
It said how "thrilled" it is to welcome colleagues from Geomagic to 3D Systems and that it is "excited to combine our technologies and provide the most amazing software for 3D scanning".
President and Chief Executive Officer at 3D Systems Avi Reichental said: "Our complementary capabilities in product development, channel coverage and marketing combined with greater efficiencies are sure to result in more affordable - and user friendly solutions that will delight our customers and could present attractive long term shareholder value.
"In line with that, we intend to expand the range of our 3D authoring solutions further into new manufacturing and consumer applications and concurrently maintain and enhance the existing Geomagic and Rapidform product lines."
Calvin Hur, Vice President & General Manager at Computer Aided Tools, added that he is looking forward to "building upon the innovative accomplishments inspired by our new colleagues from Geomagic in the past decade. Our ultimate goal is to provide the best 3D content-to-print solutions to this growing market."
