The company was among the day gainers and traded with a value to 3.7 million shares in the last session of the week, compared to average 6.3 volumes.
Unit value increased by 1.54 per cent and finished the day on $33.72 per share, which is 8.1 per cent down for the week.
3D Systems experienced some midday upside after CNBC reported the company had pulled out of a BB&T conference scheduled for this week due to a date clash. Speculations of material news - including rumours of a buyout - proved unfounded.
Today, 3D Systems slumped by 1.5 per cent to $33.00 within the first hour of trading, but some analyst predict more positive movements for the company as the week progresses.
3D Systems is slightly down on the year, though the stock is up more than double compared to the same period last year.
Growth momentum is what gives the company such market appeal, as its earnings increased by an average 78 per cent over the last five years, according to Street Insider, while expansion is set to be steady at 25 per cent for the next five years.
