AM Conference
The annual Nottingham-based additive manufacturing (AM) conference, Additive International, formerly known as the International Conference on Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing, has announced its speaker line-up including thought leaders from Airbus, Air Force Research Laboratory, PPG Industries and more.
The two-day event which takes place at the Nottingham Belfry hotel on 11th and 12th July, will feature talks from 19 AM experts, researchers, entrepreneurs and practitioners from across academia and industry. Take a look at the full conference line-up here.
Now in its 13th year, the conference will cover a wide range of topics, from using silicone inks to print lifelike organ models; accelerating the development of AM standards; printing in-orbit satellite parts; serial part production in aerospace, and using innovation to tackle post-processing issues.
“Additive International is really more of a summit than a conference. It is all about bringing experts together to share knowledge, discuss ideas and to learn from one another. We pride ourselves on achieving a balance between industry and academia – presenting the very latest real-world AM applications alongside exciting new developments from research labs across the globe,” said conference chair, Prof Richard Hague. “We don’t shy away from addressing the issues and obstacles that AM presents head-on. This honesty and transparency is part of what keeps our delegates, presenters and exhibitors returning each year to take part.”
Additive International has also selected a its first ever charity partner, Field Ready. The charity uses local materials and manufacturing methods to develop life-saving supplies and equipment in the field to reach areas stricken by disaster, conflict and extreme poverty.
The conference will kick off with a pre-conference day focussed on Business Innovation in AM on 10th July with quick-fire presentations from 33 of Innovate UK-funded AM project teams exploring business applications of AM in the following categories. In addition, over 30 organisations will be exhibiting alongside the conference venue.
