Autodesk, Arkema and Farsoon have joined forces in a bid to accelerate industrial production for additive manufacturing.
The three companies, which are each presenting their latest developments at TCT Asia in Shanghai this week, will focus on optimising hardware, software and materials for polymer laser sintering in order to simplify the design-to-print process for production environments.
Speaking about the partnership, Guillaume de Crevoisier, Arkema’s Global Business Director for 3D printing, said: “This evolving market needs much more than materials alone. It is essential to enable and leverage key strategic partnerships throughout the digital design and manufacturing chain. It’s all about synergies.”
The collaboration will give users of Autodesk Netfabb and Fusion 360 software the ability to select machine and material configurations with optimised process parameters, which have been validated for Farsoon's open laser sintering hardware and Arkema's polyamide 11 powder.
“With this collaboration we have also introduced Rilsan polyamide 11 as a materials option into our generative design technology,” said Leanne Gluck, Additive Manufacturing Strategy Lead, Autodesk. “This makes it possible for Fusion 360 customers to rapidly create hundreds of generative design outcomes that are ready to print.”
The collaboration aims to encourage easy collaboration of these key parts of the AM value chain with an open ecosystem that could open up a wider range of application possibilities.
