Beamler software
Beamler B.V., a provider of 3D printing software, has acquired Printr B.V., a fellow developer of software for desktop platforms.
Printr brought to market an enterprise resource planning system for desktop 3D printing systems after raising €750,000 from investors. It was forced to cease operation in October 2017 ‘due to unexpected developments in the industry’, but has since come under the control of Beamler.
The business acquisition will see the two firms integrate and enhance their product offering.
“Printr is a promising company which is pioneering in our market [and] offers an ERP cloud system for desktop 3D printers. This allows engineers to access different 3D printers at the same time from any computer through the cloud. We see this technology as very promising and as a key solution for further development of our industry,” commented Willem Jan van Loon, Founder of Beamler. “The merger of our two business is great news for all our stakeholders and it accelerates the market. We intend to continue to invest and grow Printr technology. We will also incorporate different functions to our platform with the software version 1.1 at Q2 2018.”
Printr was founded in 2014 by four students from Twente, the Netherlands, three from Creative Technology from the University of Twente and the other from Concept & Product development from Saxion. Within two years, the company had expanded from four people to sixteen, and will now see its aim of making 3D printing accessible to everyone supported by Beamler.
Beamler was established to help large companies, providing their engineers and product designers with access to 3D printing data and connects them to a global industrial 3D printing network.
