DyeMansion has secured a $5m Series A funding, receiving contributions from UVC Partners, btov Partners, and AM Ventures.
The German firm intends on using the investment to expand the business globally and make significant additions to its product portfolio. At the top of the to-do list is developing a finishing technology that achieves injection moulded surface quality on parts 3D printed with polymers.
Founded in 2015, DyeMansion has since brought to market the Powershot C, Powershot S, and DM60, cleaning, surfacing and colouring post-process technologies, all of which are automated, and all of which have been designed to make it easier to get from print to a finished, ready-to-use part. Three years on from the company’s birth, it has found custom with more than 400 organisations, including industry heavyweights like BMW, Daimler and Under Armour.
Yet, in order to continue that productivity in an ever-competitive market, it has required the help of a range of series investors.
“With AM Ventures and our new investors, we have found the right people and expertise to accelerate our global roll out and to develop more technologies and Industry 4.0 solutions,” commented Felix Ewald, CEO and Co-Founder of DyeMansion. “To have such experienced partner on board will help a lot along this journey.”
“Thanks to our customers and partners we have learned a lot about the demand for the digital factory of the future,” added Philipp Kramer, CTO and Co-Founder of DyeMansion. “With the new funds, we will expand our R&D capacity in order to raise the bar in post-processing automation and to provide the best possible end-use part finish for every application. Our new system for getting completely smooth surfaces on AM plastics will demonstrate DyeMansion’s capabilities once again.”
Arno Held, Chief Venture Officer, AM Ventures, said: “We have been supporting DyeMansion from the early beginning as a seed investor and we are very proud to see this extraordinary team growing successfully into a mature, professional and still one-of-a-kind company."
