Leading provider of finishing systems for additive manufacturing DyeMansion today launched its new Powerfuse S solution at Formnext in Frankfurt. This is the system behind the company’s VaporFuse Surfacing technology and “the first chemical smoothing solution that proves to be clean and industry-ready on the basis of obvious characteristics.”
In contrast to corrosive solvents or acids, DyeMansion’s VaporFuse Eco Fluid solvent is harmless and safe for both the operator and the environment. It can safely be used for the processing of plastics intended to come into contact with food according to regulation (EU) 10/2011. The solvent is circulated continuously in a closed loop and automatically recovered by the system. This enables a sustainable contact-free process without chemical waste.
“I am very proud of my team at DyeMansion for developing a system that will set new standards in the industry and impressively proves that our company is able to offer solutions at the highest industrial level”, says Felix Ewald, CEO & co-founder at DyeMansion.
To present itself as Industry 4.0-ready, the Powerfuse S system offers a fully automatic loading option, connectivity and batch tracking features. Validated and specially developed programs for most common materials are available and ready to use. In addition, all process parameters can be adapted individually for other materials. This ensures flexibility and a seamless integration with existing production processes such as the DyeMansion Print-to-Product workflow. Both the Powerfuse S and DM60 are included in the Siemens Automation Technology for digital AM factory planning on booth 12.1, D81 at Formnext.
DyeMansion has also published a new whitepaper focusing on a comparison of gloss and surface roughness of EOS PA2200, HP 3D HR PA 12 and L&V LUVOSINT TPU 92A parts after both PolyShot and VaporFuse Surfacing. This paper can be requested from DyeMansion directly and is also displayed at their Formnext booth (11.1, D61). While PSS is a mechanical surface treatment that achieves a matte-glossy look, VFS delivers sealed and washable surfaces without losing edges for injection molded like surfaces. These properties and the ability to process internal surfaces open up new possibilities in the medical and food & beverage sector.
“VaporFuse Surfacing will open new opportunities for DyeMansion in terms of finishable materials from various technologies, especially FDM. We are looking forward to our pilot phase that starts immediately after Formnext and will last for three to six months opening many doors to new applications”, commented Kai Witter, Chief Customer Officer at DyeMansion.
