EOS and 3YOURMIND have partnered to develop AM Part Identifier (AMPI), which helps businesses to decide how they can best implement additive manufacturing technology.
By installing AMPI, businesses allow their part inventories to be 3D scanned to determine optimal parts for 3D printing. With such recommendations made quickly and automatically, users can immediately begin 3D printing profitably.
Previously, companies have been forced to manually sift through inventories, which in some cases house hundreds of thousands of parts, and decide on their own judgement, or that of a third-party reviewer, the parts able to be 3D printed. This is not only time-consuming, but can also be costly, particularly if a third party is used in the process.

An automated scan of an inventory is performed once basic information about the parts is inputted into the software. The software’s analytic reports leverage over ten years’ worth of experience from additive manufacturing experts to determine which parts are best-suited for industrial 3D printing.

The two companies involved with developing the software are pitching AMPI as a solution for businesses of all sizes to efficiently enter Industry 4.0 and optimise their use of 3D printing. They believe the platform essentially provides a blueprint for shifting the proper resources and guaranteeing a successful outcome. Additional tools are available to enter information about internal 3D production resources and external industrial 3D printing suppliers. These will enable further customisation for components to the user’s specific capacity.
