EOS M400
Metal additive manufacturing giant EOS has announced a new platform system for the maturing metal manufacturing technology.
The company has revealed its integrated e-Manufacturing solutions for the EOS M 400 system; a modular, extendable platform that primes additive manufacturing for industrial environments.
Anand Prakasam, Country Manager at EOS in India, explained: "EOS is pursuing a platform-based strategy for the metal technology and is able to support its customers from the research and development phase, through to the series production. The EOS M 400 represents the key to the industrial series utilisation of additive manufacturing."
Numerous factors contribute to this new system, which enables the manufacture of larger components, allowing the technology to move into new dimensions, while the level of intuitive automation in the system has been further advanced.
The EOS M 400 delivers improved quality assurance and is easy to use, making it suitable for many customer key requirements when it comes to series production. Commercialisation on the basic system model commenced in spring 2014, with global distribution planned from spring 2015.
Prakasam continued: "If the EOSINT M 270 and EOSINT M 280 models have set the technical benchmarks, then the EOS M 400 takes these a step further. The new system supports users not only in the context of its qualification for production, but also in actual manufacturing applications. We won't be drawing the line at a single solution. We will be expanding the platform with successive performance modules."
