3T RPD
Experts in rapid prototyping and 3D printing 3T RPD have announced a number of significant developments.
The West Berkshire-based company has extended its production facilities by more than one-third (35 per cent) in order to expand the metal additive manufacturing factory and add to the number of DMLS machines it has on site.
Two new M280 machines have been delivered within the first week of October, bringing capacity up to seven machines and establishing 3T as having the largest independent metal additive manufacturing capacity in the UK, making it a strong competitor in the European market.
Ian Halliday, CEO of 3T RPD, said: "The extension of our premises means that we continue to grow to meet our customers' demands. We are seeing a significant change in the market place with customers increasingly asking us to build serial production parts. The expansion means that we now have both the capacity and the expertise to meet these needs."
Having secured roles in six of the 18 Technology Strategy Board-funded additive manufacturing development projects, 3T has recruited two additional team members in the areas of process control and research and development. 3T is also actively recruiting for a Mechanical or Design Engineer to work on the TSB funded GOSSAM project. The GOSSAM project will develop innovative and advanced intelligent metal additive manufacturing support scaffolds.
Halliday continued: "The person who fills this role will influence the design direction of metal additive manufacturing in the future. It's a real opportunity for an engineer who already has an interest in this game changing technology to drive a research and development project which will benefit designers, engineers and manufacturers in their adoption of the technology."
