Faro Visual Inspect
Faro believes users will benefit from greater flexibility with the Visual Inspect applications.
3D measurement and imaging solutions provider, Faro has launched of its Visual Inspect product family, which consists of two software applications.
The primary Visual Inspect product enables the intuitive mobile viewing, verification and documentation of complex 3D data, while the accompanying Visual Inspect AR software solution enables complex 3D data to be overlaid and compared to actual data in real time.
Between them, Visual Inspect and Visual Inspect AR facilitate the transfer of large and complex 3D CAD data to mobile devices to be used for mobile visualisation, comparing files to real world conditions. Faro believes users can benefit from the Visual Inspect products, and the real-time, actionable manufacturing insight they enable. They will thus be able to cut out errors in the early stages of production, construction and design.
Faro also see the Visual Inspect solutions as a move into the next generation, evolving CAD from the traditional desktop PC to mobile, ‘in-hand’ devices. The company theories that this will provide greater flexibility, thus driving increased productivity. Users will also be able to easily export problems and errors with text and images back into Microsoft Excel Office.
“We are thrilled to follow up our purchase of mwf-technology in December 2016 with the integration of its innovative technology into the Faro product portfolio,” said Simon Raab, Ph.D., Faro’s President and CEO. “We are creating a new paradigm that enables our customers to move beyond doing it the right way most of the time to doing it the best way all the time.”
The Visual Inspect product family will be ready for use after downloading the iPad application from the Apple App Store, calibrating the iPad, and then activating the application with the calibration file.
