Farsoon Technologies has this month celebrated its tenth anniversary and hosted the AM Innovation and Industrialization Forum at its headquarters in Changsha.
The company is a vendor of polymer and metal powder-based additive manufacturing platforms with customers in the automotive, aerospace, medical and dental markets.
Many of Farsoon’s user base had representatives present at its AM Innovation and Industrialization Forum where more than 200 customers, partners, academic experts and journalists gathered to hear insights from a host of speakers. Farsoon’s General Manager Hope Hou gave the opening address, before founder and Chairman Dr. Xu Xiaoshu discussed the company’s technological innovation roadmap where he touched on such innovations as Farsoon’s Flight Technology, which was at the centre of a recent joint development agreement with Rapid Manufacturing AG.
Meanwhile, among a line-up of 11 keynote speakers were Dr Stephen Liu, former Director of Center for Welding, Joining & Coatings Research at Colorado School of Mines and John Dulchinos, VP of Global Automation and 3D Printing at Jabil Group, as well BASF’s Volker Hammes, SAPW Technology’s Xiaodong Jiang, Siemens’ Sebastian Bersch and the University of Southern California’s Dr Yong Chen. The keynote speakers shared their thoughts on the development of additive technology, highlighted some key applications and touched on current research projects.
In addition to the conference sessions, delegates were invited on a tour of the Farsoon campus. This tour took them through the company’s brand-new showroom, into an application centre where parts being produced in a variety of sectors were showcased, and then to a material testing lab and machine production facility. The 200+ guests became the first to publicly view the FS301M metal laser system which was announced earlier this month and will be unveiled to a wider audience at the upcoming Formnext show.
Farsoon will exhibit from Hall 11.1 Stand C 69 at Formnext between November 19-22.
