Creaform HCP 3D scanner
The HCP enables non-contact scanning of limbs.
Creaform, a developer of portable 3D measurement solutions, has announced its partnership with a German healthcare company.
Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH is a leading group in the field of orthotics and prosthetics. Signing the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement, Otto Bock will leverage the Creaform HCP 3D scanner and is confident it will become a vital part of its ‘3D Design’ system. Operating within the company’s patient-care centres, the 3D Design set-up is set to benefit from the incorporation of the Creaform HCP, said to deliver faster and more accurate scans.
The HCP also enables non-contact scanning of limbs, replacing messy and difficult plaster casting, which enhances patient comfort. The speed at which scans are completed, meanwhile, ensures short consultation times and minimal waiting time for patients, as well as increasing the number of people who can be treated per day.
By harnessing the HCP device, Otto Bock is confident its patient care service is further enhanced.
“Otto Bock took the time to thoroughly test and benchmark our HCP scanner against the other scanners in the market, and chose the HCP as the best technology to go forward with their solution,” said Peter Warburton, Business Development Manager at Creaform.
Fabian Thon, Otto Bock’s Product Manager for CAD CAM Products added: “Creaform’s technology fits perfectly in Otto Bock’s patient care centre model. The combination of Creaform’s innovative 3D scanning solutions with Otto Bock’s high-quality and technologically outstanding medical technology products and services for orthotics and prosthetics are expected to contribute significantly to restoring mobility to people with disabilities.”
