Engineers will provide live demonstrations on a range of manufacturing equipment at the open event.
GF Machining Solutions has announced the grand opening of its new Aerospace and Energy Center of Competence in Huntersville, North Carolina next month.
Set to commence with an event at the Carolina Aviation Museum on April 24th and continue with an open house at the Aerospace and Energy Center of Competence on April 25th, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new 21,000-sq-ft facility. Open to anyone in the manufacturing industry, visitors will get a first look at a new custom engineered showroom for machine demonstrations and test cuts, training rooms and expanded office space.
The Swiss manufacturer specialises in providing high-speed milling wire EDM, die sinking EDM machines, laser texturing machines, additive machining systems and more to the tool and mould making industry and manufacturers of precision components. With 50 sites worldwide, the new facility has been constructed to support the GF Machining's continued focus on providing comprehensive technology solutions to meet the demands of precision manufacturers, particularly within the aerospace and energy markets.

During the open day, application engineers will perform live cutting demonstrations on a variety of precision aerospace and turbine components using AgieCharmilles wire and sinker EDM machines as well as Mikron 3 and 5 axis milling, and Liechti airfoil milling machines. The welcome event will also feature special guest speaker Dan Vinton, a passenger on US Airways Flight 1549 "Miracle on the Hudson."
