Metrology solutions manufacturer, GOM is hosting its first student competition on 3D scanning, offering winning students the chance to present their own lab experiment at next year’s GOM 3D Metrology Conference.
The competition asks participants to prepare an innovative lab experiment using GOM’s ATOS 3D scanner. The experiments must be elaborated and submitted in English by June 30, 2017 and will be evaluated by an international expert jury.
The experiment must make use of the ATOS scanner, be reproducible in a standard lab, fill a lab time of 120 minutes and 60 minutes for preparation and be delivered with a 5-8 minute proposal presentation.
The winner or winning team will be awarded the GOM Education Award and a prize of 3,000 Euro. Furthermore, the winner will get the unique opportunity to present their lab experiment at the GOM 3D Metrology Conference 2017 to industry representatives of renowned inspection , quality control and product development companies.
In order to support teaching at vocational schools, universities and universities of applied sciences, GOM also developed the educational package “ATOS for Education” which supports practice-oriented education in the field of 3D metrology. In addition to industrial hardware and powerful software for 3D scanning and inspection, the package also includes elaborated lab experiments as well as lecture material. GOM is also offering another education package, “ARAMIS for Education”, which is designed for applications in the field of materials and components testing.
