Industrial finishing equipment manufacturer Guyson International has recently installed a Formula 1400 blast cabinet complete with a micro tipped Pencil Blaster for a leading additive manufacturing company, ‘FDM Digital Solutions’.
The company works with production grade thermoplastics, the same materials as those used for most conventionally made injection moulded parts, enabling them to offer a higher degree of build accuracy, durability and repeatability in 3D prototypes.
The Guyson Formula blast cabinet and Pencil Blaster aim to enhance the surface finish of these 3D prototypes through better cosmetic finishes that remove lines caused in the manufacturing process and better prepare products for coating with paint.
The Guyson Formula blast cabinet range comprises four strong and durable steel cabinets which all utilise industrial quality model 400 blast gun and are ideal for light industrial applications or when blasting is required on an intermittent basis.
The F1400 is a large machine that can accommodate most large scale prototypes. Controlled by a pedal, the hands free blasting process is accompanied by the Guyson F21 dust collector.
The optional Pencil Blaster can be supplied with any Formula cabinet adding the facility to clean delicate or intricate components using the ultra-fine micro nozzle. This compact pressure fed unit is externally fitted and uses a hardened nozzle, operated by a separate foot pedal.
