Additive manufacturing with ceramics is a sphere that has been gathering much interest in recent months and Vienna-headquartered Lithoz has brought this exciting technology to EuroMold (December 3rd-6th).
Lithoz claims to be the only company in the world that offers an additive manufacturing technology for high-performance ceramics with the same material properties as conventional forming technologies.
The Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM) technology was developed by Lithoz in order to produce cost- and time-efficiently fully functional prototypes and small-scale series. This offers the ceramics industry and research organisations a new production technology that enables the production of highly complex parts without any limitations.
The application areas for the LCM-Technology are electronics and mechanical engineering as well as medical engineering. Together with the Vienna University of Technology and the Medical University of Vienna Lithoz is currently participating in the development of a new ceramic heart-pump. In addition to these areas Lithoz is also involved in the area of aeronautics and space engineering.
Last year Lithoz presented its new LCM-Technology and the CeraFab 7500 at the EuroMold for the first time and was awarded with the Euromold-award in silver. This year Lithoz will present various application examples as well as new materials.
