Luxexcel, a leading company in 3D printed optics, has officially opened its U.S. headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.
The company, emanating from Eindhoven, Netherlands, has expanded its presence into the United States after a period of sustained growth. As part of his global commercial responsibilities, Chief Commercial Officer, Guido Groet, has relocated to Alpharetta to lead Luxexcel’s operations in North America.
Pioneering the 3D printing of ophthalmic applications, Luxexcel is committed to manufacturing new and unique products. Already this year, the company has announced its partnership with Vuzix Corp, a supplier of smartglasses and Augmented Reality (AR) products, and also promises more ‘revolutionary’ products in the future. The expansion into North America, Luxexcel say, will play a big part in delivering on those promises.
“Luxexcel is pushing a new lens-manufacturing paradigm with great opportunities for innovators in the ophthalmic and consumer-electronics industries,” said Hans Streng, Chief Executive Officer, Luxexcel. “Our market is taking off and we are expanding rapidly, with the first VisionPlatform solutions installed in the field. It is great to see our customers producing 3D printed prescription lenses for ophthalmic and augmented-reality applications. It is a great next step for Luxexcel to open its U.S. headquarters to ramp our business activities.”
“We are building our U.S. team in all front-end areas, sales/ marketing, business development and service alike,” Groet adds. “Luxecel has a tradition of hiring employees with the attitude of making the impossible, possible. We have installed our first VisionPlatforms in the U.S. and follow-up ambitions are high. The U.S. market is a market which is open for innovation and opportunity and this goes hand in hand with our mission to revolutionise the eyewear industry and offer smart eyewear to the world.”
