XYZ 710 VMC
Precision engineering company and 3D printing champion Merlin Engineering has announced that it has taken delivery of a new XYZ 710 machining centre.
The high performance, vertical system has been constructed on boxway slides both for rigidity and faster machining, boasting the latest Siemens control, a CAM system that has been built into the machine for high-speed programming with advanced features.
The new XYZ 710 walks the user through the steps of machining logically, while programming times have been "greatly reduced", making for a more efficient working day.
The machine's working envelope is 710 x 450 x 500mm and it utilises a 20hp spindle motor in conjunction with its solid cast frame, making it a "more than capable addition" to the Merlin Engineering family.
This investment follows Merlin's purchase of a vibratory finisher in November, enabling the company to now offer a wide range of finished from deburring, edge breaking, degreasing and radiusing through to 0.03 ra super finishing.
