Ooznest OX
UK-based RepRap 3D printer parts supplier, Ooznest has released the Ooznest OX, a high specification CNC router kit.
The Ooznest OX builds upon the company’s beginnings in 3D printing at Cambridge as it expands into other areas of the maker community to allow users to make functional parts from woods, plastics and aluminium.
The Ooznest OX is a full machine kit aimed at the hobbyist CNC market. The Ooznest OX uses the very popular V-Slot extrusion system, which provides the machine with extremely smooth and accurate linear motion. It features NEMA23 stepper motors driving all axes, with GT3 belt motion on the X & Y axes, and an ACME lead screw driven system on the Z. The machine uses the CNC xPro for motion control, and included cable carriers for safe machine operation.
The fully loaded Ooznest OX is available now at various price points and in a range of sizes to suit individual needs, including 500x750mm (£969) and 1500x1500mm (£1202,50) sized machine. It also available as just a mechanical kit starting at £570, which provides more adventurous makers with a base platform to build the machine they want using different electronics and motors.
