OPS at Auto Show
OGP UK's Objet Connex will be demonstrating multi-material 3D printing at Automotive Engineering Stand 511
Following its award as European-Partner-of-the-Year by German-based Objet, the world leader in inkjet-based 3D printing systems, OPS Ltd of Foston, Derbyshire (Stand 511) is to demonstrate the ability of the Objet Connex multi-material 3D printer to create models using up to 14 different material properties from two core material types to produce a single part.
OPS’ success has been achieved through customer application and service support of the comprehensive range of Objet 3D printers. The demonstration of the Connex, that is able to create realistic prototypes at high build speed for testing for form, fit and function can create a model in a matter of hours which significantly contributes to the reduction in product development times.
The Connex multi-material 3D printer provides a choice of incorporating over 60 different materials into a model enabling users to select up to 51 digital materials with varying mechanical properties and textures as well as ranging in usefulness from transparency to high rigidity through ABS-grade engineering plastics. Accuracies can be achieved between 0.1 to 0.3 mm. Printing in multi-material or high speed mode is carried out using layers of 30 micron material but when using a single material, industry leading levels of 16 micron produce high resolution print layer accuracy.
Available through the UK’s specialist Objet supplier is the complete range of Objet 3D printers from the low-cost desktop Objet 24 to the top-of-the-range Objet Connex 500 which has a build tray capacity of 500 mm by 400 mm by 200 mm.
