Polaroid has launched four new desktop 3D printing systems for the U.S. and Canadian markets at CES in Las Vegas.
Showcasing the Nano Duo, Nano Mini, Nano Glide, and Nano+ from Central Hall #16615, Polaroid is aiming to make the latest 3D printing technology accessible for consumers looking to implement a machine in their home, classroom or office.
Polaroid first made its entry into the 3D printing space nearly two years to the day, introducing the ModelSmart 250S 3D printer at CES 2016. It followed up with more product launches last year, and has once again expanded its 3D printing offering in Vegas.
“At Polaroid, we have an 80-year history of not only making the latest technology accessible to the everyday consumer, but also providing users with products that allow them to express their creativity,” said Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid. “Our newest 3D printer models are the perfect example of this. We’re proud to offer the latest in 3D printing technology to give users a new way to express themselves at a price point that puts the technology within reach for use in any home, school or business.”
The Polaroid Nano Duo features dual-head printing, allowing the user to print two colours simultaneously, and with a built-in camera enables live monitoring of the build. It supports a wide range of filament types, including ABS, wood, TPU, metal and PLA, and has a build volume of 11.8 x 8.8 x 12.6 inches. The Nano Duo will be available in April for $1849.
Polaroid’s Nano Mini platform is described as a ‘plug and play’ option, with no prior 3D printing experience required to run the machine. It boasts one-button push control and an ultra-quiet motor makes it ideal for use in homes and classrooms. The printer supports PLA 1.75mm and has a build space of 3.1 x 3.1 x 3.5 inches. It will be available for $349 in April.
The Polaroid Nano Glide is a slightly larger platform with a sliding print bed measuring 4.7 x 4.7 x 4.7 inches, and has a smart sensor which informs users when to refill the PLA 1.75 filament it supports. Child safety doors are also in place, making it suitable for use in homes and classrooms. The Nano Glide will be available in April for $479.
Meanwhile, the Polaroid Nano+ is said to deliver fast, accurate, stable prints. Like the Nano Glide, the Nano+ has a printing area of 4.7 x 4.7 x 4.7 inches, a smart sensor alerting the user when the PLA filament needs to be refilled, and child safety doors. The Nano+ will be available in March for $549.
