INTAMSYS FUNMAT -HT
The INTAMSYS FUNMAT-HT series
Polymaker, a Chinese 3D printing material developer, has partnered with INTAMSYS in a bid to integrate their respective expertise in materials and machinery.
Welcoming INTAMSYS into its Printer Manufacturers Partnership Program (PMPP), Polymaker is wanting to offer holistic manufacturing solutions that can rival that of the likes of Stratasys, and strengthen its Polymaker Industrial portfolio. INTAMSYS becomes the first partner of Polymaker’s PMPP, which has been established to deliver more comprehensive and effective 3D printing solutions to industrial customers.
As extrusion-based 3D printing continues to be adopted by industrial players, for small scale manufacturing as well as rapid prototyping, Polymaker has highlighted a need for better integration between materials and machines. The company believes users need guarantees on reliability, and full knowledge and support on the performance of printed parts. It has thus set up the PMPP to provide a platform for collaboration between itself and manufacturers of 3D printing systems.
PMPP will involve custom development of materials for the 3D printers of Polymaker’s partners; extensive testing; and the creation of technical documents for professional users. Polymaker says PMPP will also enable the partners to respond more quickly to customers’ needs, which can of course vary significantly from one industry to another. With INTAMSYS, Polymaker will work to develop optimised material profiles specific to industry requirements. INTAMSYS’ printers are equipped with active heating build chambers and high-temperature extruders, making them compatible with engineering plastics like polycarbonate, Nylon and PEEK. This, per Polymaker, provides the perfect platform for its Industrial series of materials, and will allow them to produce parts with more isotropic mechanical properties. INTAMSYS will launch four Polymaker Industrial materials as a starting point, with plans to add more as the partnership continues. The company will also have access to the 20+ Industrial materials already available, as will its customers.
“As a materials supplier, we can only provide part of the solution; by integrating printer and materials, we can provide more accurate data and full solutions to industrial customers,” said Xiaofan Luo, CEO of Polymaker of the strategic partnership with INTAMSYS.
“The close partnership between INTAMSYS and Polymaker is highly synergistic as it combines the expertise and capabilities of both companies to swiftly develop customised solutions to our customers,” added Charles Han, CEO of INTAMSYS.
