Prodways, a French manufacturer of 3D printing systems, has announced the launch of its latest DLP machine, the ProMaker LD3.
The desktop platform is the company’s eighth Digital Light Processing (DLP) product to be brought to market and has been designed to serve dental professionals, jewellers, and educators. It is also capable of building small prototypes.
Prodways says the ProMaker LD3 will allow the company to ‘address a new segment of professionals looking for high quality 3D printing in a compact footprint.’ Its previous DLP have typically been large-format, but the LD3 has dimensions of 400 x 400 x 545 mm with a build envelope of 64 x 120 x 130 mm. The idea being to package the professional performance of DLP technology into a compact, multi-functional platform, that can operate in any-sized environment.
The company has long been a provider of 3D printing technology for the dental and jewellery markets, and as it begins to roll out its latest product it will again target professionals in those sectors. In early Q3 the machine will be made available within a dental package that includes within it specific dental materials and support from dental experts. Those materials will include resins for dental models intended for repair work, such as crowns and bridges, and to be used in thermoforming, such as dental aligners and retainers, and CE certified resins for implant guides. In addition to this, Prodways will also supply burnout resins for stellite casting or fixed crowns in ceramic or metal.
The printer/ materials/ premium service and training package for dental professionals will be sold as a monthly subscription at a total cost of ownership below €1,990. By the end of the year, Prodways will have followed the dental package up with bundles deigned for jewellery, and next year will do the same for education and prototyping.
